Rosemary and Lemon Gin and Tonic

Rosemary and Lemon Gin and Tonic

The days are finally longer and warmer here in the South of France! Although we did not have a long winter, making use of our outside terrance feels like a longtime coming. In the evenings we have enjoyed sitting outside with our apéritifs, enjoying the last rays of sunshine, accompanied by some olives and cheese, of course! In today’s recipe we wanted to make use of the rosemary from our garden, which has not stopped growing with this good weather. Our Gin and Tonic is refreshing and light for summer evenings, a great way to end the day. Let us know what you think of the recipe!

Recipe

  1. For this recipe we are first going to make a rosemary infused simple syrup. In a small saucepan bring 1 cup of water to boil with two sprigs of rosemary.

  2. Once boiling, remove the sprigs of rosemary and add 1 cup of sugar. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.

  3. Once the water and sugar is combined, remove from the heat and let cool.

  4. When your simple syrup has cooled, add 1-2 tbsp of it to your glass (with two tbsp you will have a stronger and sweeter flavor).

  5. Then squeeze the juice of 1 lemon slice in your glass.

  6. Then add your ratio of gin to tonic. For these we did 1 shot of gin and filled the glass with tonic.

  7. Add an extra sprig of rosemary and slice lemon, and enjoy!
